The Ron Samuels Model Field is a radio control model air field which also has a (electric cars only) radio control car track. This area is adjacent to Jack's Hole which is a small pond that has water in it periodically, depending on the time of year. When there is water in the pond, it can be used to run radio control boats and float planes.
RC Airfield RC Car Field
Hours of Operation:
7:00 AM until sunset for electric models and 8:00 AM until sunset for gas powered models, 7 days a week.
The model field area has four picnic benches, sun shade, two BBQ grills and a portable restroom.
The Bear Valley Springs RC Model Club has an electric radio control airplane that is available to be used for flying lessons (by appoinment only, call 661-821-0564). The club supplies the plane and RC gear for this instruction, at no cost to the individual receiving lessons.
The Bear Valley Springs RC Model Club is a social club for the promotion of all radio control modeling here in Bear Valley Springs and as such, does not manage the Ron Samuels Model Field. The managment of this amenity falls under the BVSA Recreation Manager, Debbie Papac. The Bear Valley Springs Model Club invites all residents who would like to join the club to attend our monthly meetings at the Whiting Center on the first Sunday of each month in the Green Room from 3:00-4:00 PM. The Whiting Center Gym is also available for flying indoor RC aircraft between 4:00-6:00 PM, following the meeting each month. Our annual dues are $20.
