June 3, 2022 The BVS Shooting Range is Closed Until Further Notice
The BVSA along with the entire community of Bear Valley Springs wishes to express our heartfelt gratitude to the Kern County Fire Department for their quick response and skill in containing the fire at the Shooting Range today.
The fire was started before the opening of the range as a result of weed abatement efforts by BVSA employees. The Rangers immediately used the radio to dispatch emergency personnel which was critical to response time.
The Shooting Range will remain closed until further notice. We appreciate the members’ patience.
The BVSA Shooting Range is located at 31000 Deertrail Dr. It includes a pistol range, a rifle range, and a trap range. The pistol and rifle ranges have a covered & fenced shooting area with baffles separating the shooting positions. The rifle range has convenient bench rests& seating.
All shooters must complete a short quiz; sign the release of liability form & all other acknowledgement forms prior to using the Range. Gun range exam packets and liability forms are available at the Whiting Center. All firearms & ammunition will be inspected at the Range by BVS Ranger RSO’s prior to being authorized to shoot.
Please contact the Whiting Center at (661) 821-6641 ahead of time to confirm that the Range will be open if you are making plans to come up and shoot.
